Ai Ra

Originally from Hollywood, Florida, Ai Chaim Ra has burst onto Eastern American stages recently with Teatro Nuovo, St. Pete Opera, and other companies, performing leading roles in opera, operetta, and straight plays.

An advocate of new music, in the 2022–2023 season he performed the Bishop of Puebla in the East Coast Premiere of Carla Lucero’s Juana and appeared in the ensemble of Lori Laitman’s Uncovered.

His New England debut as Gastone in MassOpera’s immersive production of La Traviata was a critically acclaimed sold-out run, and he later reprised the role with Lighthouse Opera.

Ai has also sung Roméo in Roméo et Juliette with Seagle Music Festival and covered the lead role of Edemondo in the modern premiere of Carolina Uccelli’s Anna di Resburgo with Teatro Nuovo.

Looking ahead, he will make exciting debuts in 2025, including leading roles with Opera Magnifico and Salt Marsh Opera.

Ai is a proud graduate of Florida State University, UMKC, and Northeastern University. More at airatenor.com.
