
Brian James Myer
Puerto-Rican American baritone Brian James Myer is known for delivering “panache” in many of opera’s favorite baritone roles.
He brings his Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus to Cedar Rapids Opera in a season that also includes Belcore in L’elisir d’amore with Opera Modesto, Sacristan in Tosca and Mathieu in Andrea Chénier with Opera Delaware, and Ponchel in Silent Night with Opera Orlando.
His favorite roles include Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Le Dancaïre in Carmen, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, and Dandini in La Cenerentola, as well as appearances in new works such as The Garden of the Finzi-Continis, Dear Erich, and Stonewall.
He has performed with the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, Atlanta Opera, Bard Summerscape, Opera Southwest, Opera San José, Lyric Fest, Brooklyn Art Song Society, New York Festival of Song, and the American Lyric Theatre.
