Robert Schumann's
DICHTERLIEBE
Iowa native (Quasqueton) Chris Carr has been described as a “confident and energetic” performer with “warmth and beauty in his voice.” This is not his first work with CROpera, having last been seen as Beppe in its 2017 production of Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, and earlier as the Sacristan in Puccini’s Tosca. He is a two-time District Winner in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, and in 2015 made a successful professional transition from baritone to tenor repertoire. This production was filmed at the historic Cedarmere estate of 19th century poet and journalist William Cullen Bryant, and is sponsored by Paul and Gail Williams.
